Eskom plan for 34% hike
In a move that prepares South Africans for a big jump in tariffs later, Eskom emphasised that the request for a 34% increase was an interim measure while it finalised a new funding model. ESKOM’s 34% interim electricity tariff increase proposal is a stop-gap measure that will soften the effect of a bigger increase that the utility will require later, the company says.
